It's DONE!!

A 5 year WIP is totally complete including mounting and framing.   Linda Myer's Log Cabin Quilt..

I was begining to think it would never get done...I think the next one of hers I am going to do it Rosy Radiant Star...another multi year project.

I am so disappointed in myself...I started a large new project and half-way into the first square I discovered I couldn't do it on the fabric I had...over one just does not work on Aida...(pouting heavily).  That is what I get for not reading the stitching instructions prior to setting it up to stitch.
So more fabric ordered and on to another WIP in the pile.

The munchkins and their mom were here for Christmas Eve eve..lol...her and the other son are getting a divorce and I am keeping custody of her and divorcing him.

Christian was not a happy boy having his picture taken and Logan was more interested in the tree..lol
They are growing so fast...Christian is such a little man and Logan is going to be a handful...he definitly has a mind of his own.

Long Time no post

It's been a while since I have posted anything but so much has been going on in my world that I just have not had either time or energy to do any updating.

I decided to get productive today and do some framing.  Broke out the unfinished frames for 3..picked out paint colors and when to stretching..I am pleased with the results.

This is "Harried Hare"..for my grandsons...I fought with the D@x# rabbit the entire time but now that it is framed I am rather pleased with it.

This is "Bone Cheeks"  I love the way it turned out..I decided to do it with DMC vs the silks the patter called for and think I like it better.

This is an AAN Christmas Tree on Christmas Green fabric.  You can't see the beading detail from the photos but I really enjoyed stitching this one.  I have several more of her patterns that I am going to be working on.

Finally another christmas piece by Blue Ribbon Designs...I think I like the frame color..have to let it grow on me..it did bring out all of the greens in the stitching.

I hope things will calm down a little so I can update a little more often but ya never know what is going to happen.

Finally a few finishes!

I have been so busy stitching and working I have not posted in a while.  I have finished a few things which is living up to my promise to myself at the begining of the year to at least finish 2 WIPS before starting a new project.

So does this mean I get to start 2???  I am only starting 1...not enough done to really see what I am doing but am also working away on another WIP.  WIP & kitted up box needs some thining out so I have an excuse to kit up more projects...lol  Couldn't sleep Saturday morning..up at 4 AM so kitted up 5 more projects and into the box they went.

Work has been crazy since the first of the year, getting geared up for our busy season and hopefully will continue to be busy just have to wait and see.

Final phase of dental work begins tomorrow...going in to have the impressions made of my mouth and then...tada...on 4/16/12 I am having there rest of my teeth pulled.  Dentist advised I could spend another fortune on my mouth  but he would make no promises that they would stay. So together we decided this is my best option.  Will leave the office after that with a pretty smile!  I am looking forward to being able to eat pain free for the first time in years.  The old dentist made such a mess of my mouth I don't think anyone could have fixed it.

Will spend the week letting the swelling go down...the pain get under control and stitching and reading...could you ask for a better week?  Will have to be in shape as that Saturday will be PINS and don't want to miss that!

Long time..no post...time to update

It has been almost 2 months since I posted and life has been crazy.  The holidays, working, club meetings, grandkids...you name it and it's been nuts!

The holidays were almost peaceful this year...just 6 of us for both Thanksgiving and Christmas...sad in a way but nice in a way also.  I was so proud of myself with shopping this year..it was all cash. No credit card use at all!

My husband bought me a very nice Vera Bradley stitching bag.  It holds 8 projects, my portable Ott Lite, all of my gadgets and 3 sets of Q-Snaps with plenty of room.  I love it! Makes carrying everything so much easier.

I have gotten a WIP done!

I love the fabric..photo does not do it justice.  It is called "Fog".

I am making progress on the (****) bunny...

I hope to have it finished in the next 10 days.  I won't get any stitching done during the week this week tho.  I will be in Alabama all week on business...not really looking forward to it.  One of the parts of my job I really dislike.  I have been informed I will have to do more traveling...more work and no extra pay for it...it's "expected".  All I can say is I am lucky to have a job...I just have to keep telling myself that.

Waiting on test results for my dad.  Apparently he has Stage 3 kidney disease.  No diagnosis yet...keeping our fingers crossed...

House junk...

There are times when I hate having a home...woke up this am to NO HOT WATER!!!!!  My hot water heater died over-night...URGH!  So we have been to Home Depot first thing..new heater purchased now we just have to install it...

On a good note...yesterday was PINS and we had a great time...got a lot done..it was good to see everyone that does not make it on Tuesdays and a lot of the ladies that can't make it on Tuesdays on a regular basis are going to be there this week!

Been cleaning out a lot of my stash and am making room for items on my wish lists...I know it's sneaky but it works!

Working on getting a lot of my WIPS further along..goal this next year it to finish one WIP in order to start a new project...sounds good doesn't it??  Let's see if I live up to it...lol

No photos as camera is still at work..sent myself an e-mail to remember to bring it home..

Till the next time..hope everyone has a wonderful safe and peaceful Thanksgiving!

Long time...

It's been a long time...but a lots been going on...first of all the good things..I have a new grandson!  Logan Chandler Pierce was born on 10-5-11, four weeks early but healthy and happy.  He is now 6 weeks old and growing like a weed! This is his latest beauty shot..

His big brother Christian is not in the least bit jealous but still wants to be #1.

We had a scare with my mom...she went for her 6 month check up so she could leave for AZ and the  oncologist was a little concerned with some of her symptoms and ordered a lot of tests.  One of which was a brain scan.  Seems that when her type of cancer comes back it is usually in the brain.  Rough couple of weeks lots of waiting in hospitals and dr's offices and got the results back and she is still clean..YAHOOOO!  Mom and Dad get to leave next week for AZ and they can't wait, they need to destress.

Work has been crazy and stressful, came very very close a few days ago to being unemployed..took a weekend to think about and took a big breath and kept on going.  I need to wind the lottery!

Stitching has been my sanity..started 2 new projects...and am close to finishing a couple of more...this is the only current photo as the camera is at work...URGH

Tomorrow is IHOP and Saturday is PINS.  Hope to have a new finish at least!

It's FINISHED

Yes it's done!  I churned thru Alessandra Adellaide's Christmas Tree and finished it last night with my own touches.  The pattern did not call for any metallic's or beads but I added them.  I think it turned out nicely!

This picture does not show all of the detail work but I like the way it turned out.

Today was PINS and we had a great time...needed it after this week at work and next week will be just as bad.  Lots of meetings etc and not a lot of time to get my work done but it will get done.

Looks like the new baby Logan will make his appearance this week...not the best time in the world for it but we will handle it.

Cold Germs....Yech!!!

Who ever sent this cold my way needs to take it back!  I have not had one in a couple of years and now I remember why I don't want another one!

We have 2 new members of the household.  Lucy who is a black and white tuxedo kitten, we found her on the car-port at about age 4 weeks.  Her momma had disappeared and her 2 litter mates were found dead in our yard (we think coyotes got them).  We brought her in the house and she took right to it.

Then there is Sparky.  Tortiseshell kitten my husband found in the parking lot at work.  She is  a little cuddler.  They are fitting right in.  If you sit down they find your lap!
I have gotten quite a bit done on the Alessanda piece.  I might be able to finish it in the next couple of weeks then on to the next project.

It is a little more than half done.  There are a couple of errors in it but by the time I found them I was not going to frog the mistakes!

Is it already Monday???

I think there was a weekend in there somewhere..I don't feel like it tho.  Had the munchin all weekend, his mom was back in the hospital in premature labor again. His Pee-Paw and Uncle James took care of him all day on Friday and then I took over when I got home.  I forgot how much work a 2 year old is full time!   He played chase with the kittens all night friday nite and then they crashed together in his port-a-crib.
2 very tired babies..lol

I didn't get much stitching done this weekend and by the time he went home on Sunday I was almost too tired to do anything.  Here is my progress for the week...

I couldn't use the silver petit treasure braid on the 32 count fabric so had to settle for silver mettallic DMC..not as shiny so will make up for it with crystal, red and blue beads to simulate ornaments.

Tuesday nite will be at the IHOP and will use a portable light so I can see better then Saturday is PINS.

Hectic Weekend!

I am glad it's Monday!  I cannot belive I just said that..lol.  This weekend was not really restful.  Worked Saturday morning, then to Stitch Day, came home cleaned house, did laundry, cooked dinner.  Sat down again about 9 and crashed hard!  Sunday morning up at 5:30 am again and off to the grocery store which I was supposed to do Saturday nite but ran out of time..then off to the car show at 11.  Good show 90+ cars, lots of new ones and it appeared that everyone had a great time even in the heat.  Came home ate dinner and stitched for about an hour before I gave it up and went to bed.

This is my new start..  it is an Alessandra Adelaide piece called Christmas Tree

I am doing it on 32ct Christmas Green linen w/ DMC 5200 with Silver Petite Treasure Braid...I think it will be beautiful when it is done.

Finally another Finish!

Finally another finish!  My halloween finish..thinking I might turn it into a little pillow.

Had a little party for the munchkin on Saturday night after his accident on Friday.  He was so excited to see everyone and really liked his birthday gifts.  I think he liked his cake even more!
Another week at work..just taking it one week at at a time and this week is mid-year reviews so it will be interesting to see if I can hold my tounge.

It's not possible!

My grandson will be 2 tommorrow!!  It is not possible..lol.  The munchkin is such a little hoot.  He spent the weekend with us and wore me out!  I don't know if I am ready for Logan when he gets here in October...I am sure he will be a little sweetie too.    We will see him again this weekend for his birthday.

Didn't get a lot of stitching done this past week but almost have a small finish.  It is "Flora McSample Boo Sampler" by Lizzie Kate.  Needed something quick, easy and fun to do.

Hope to finish this up tomorrow so I can start on something new.

Not a whole lot more to say...too much going on I don't want the world to know about just yet.

Great Mini-Vacation!

Great mini-vacation..now it's time to go back to work.  Thursday was my birthday, went and paid my birthday present to Gwinnett County for tags for my cars...why can't they do it any other day than my birthday???  Such as the anniversary of the day you bought the car???  What would be the problem with that?  Spent the rest of the day piddling around, took a nap, had a nice dinner then....Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2 at IMAX!  Great Movie..hate to see them end!

Stitched some this weekend..here is the progress on Harried Hare:
I might get it done for Easter next year..lol

Spent Saturday at The Stitch Store..got a few new things and thread and fabric to finish kitting up a couple more projects.

Sunday was yard work all day that we have been putting off for a while.  Got it all done!  Yard is looking better.  Veggie patch is comming right along.  Picked my first tomatoes!

Panel 2 is done!

Panel 2 of Summer Seascape is done!..YAY  Now on to another WIP..several to pick from...I counted and it is scary..24 WIPS...it is out of control..but oh so much fun!

Sunday was a Car Show and I was so tired when I got home could not move.  The heat really got to all of us.  I think I sweated out every drop of fluid I drank.

We had the munchkin Saturday night and poor old Oscar was on guard duty...they were such a hoot!
He is too big for a porta-crib now so it is a mattress on the floor...my little house doesn't have an extra room for grandkids to spend the night so he sleeps in the living room floor..he was worn out when he went to bed and slept for 12 hours!

Taking Thursday & Friday off...Friday is HARRY POTTER!  I cannot wait..tickets already purchased and I will be at the first showing!    I know....I am a geek and proud of it!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Progress and Memories

Had a great time Tuesday nite at the Stitch Store with the "Hootie Girls"...made me remember running "Which Craft Now?" with my mom and how much fun it was.  I miss it!  Teaching classes, helping people get stuff together for new projects, going to shows and seeing students showing off their work.  I could go on and on.

Almost done with the 2nd panel of the Summer Sescape series.  When this panel is done will put it down for a couple of weeks and work on something else.  So many WIPS calling out to me..Pick Me...Pick Me!

Finally downloaded photos from our trip to see my dad in Virginia..I always get homesick when I go. This is my dad's house..built by my great-grandparents in 1902.

This is the original family home built in the late 1780's and added on to over the years..
I have great memories of this place!

Well time for work!

New Finish and New Attitude!

Finished Crazy Cat Lady a couple of weeks ago but just took picture of it last nite.  Quick and fun stitch.

It was a nice weekend. Lots of stitching, went to the library and got some stuff to read.  Trying to be smarter about money and time.  Hubby and I decided that it is time for me to get my life back and do things I want to do and not let the car club take up so much of my life.

Working on second panel of Summer Seascape series by Country Cottage.  Have my eye on several new things just coming out.  Hope Terri gets them in soon.  Pulled out an old WIP and will work on it at least 2 nites every week until it is done.  Have decided that this is my new point of attack for WIPS.

Have a great week everyone...looking forward to the 4 day weekend!

Another Finish Soon

The heat has driven me inside more so am getting a lot of stitching done.  Steady progress on Crazy Cat Lady..might even finish it tonight.  Then just have to decide which WIP is next to complete or at least make a big dent in.  Stitch Day at The Stitch Store is saturday and then car show on Sunday...full weekend!  Next weekend is off to Virginia to spend a few days with my Dad for fathers day, can't wait..we really relax when we are up there.  A very small quiet town and  hopefully it will be an escape from the heat!

Here is a pic of the progress, hopefully will show it framed next!

Happy Memorial Day!

This is the holiday when I am so proud to be a part of a military family.  Most Memorial Day weekends growing up my father was not there as he was in the Air Force and was always somewhere else.  My mom was a strong military wife and was a single parent for most of my Dad's active duty years.  They raised 3 strong independent children who were proud to be Americans and proud of the sacrifices that their father and his ancestors made to make this country great.

Current project is "Official Crazy Cat Lady" by Raise the roof designs.  I think it is really cute.  Working out in my mind what kind of frame I want to do for it.  Leaning toward a shade of blue with dark grey kitty prints walking down one side of it...we shall see.  I am making great progress on it and hope to finish it by the next Stitch Day at The Stitch Store in Buford.

It's back to work in the morning and stitching tomorrow night.  I will need it to get me thru the next couple of weeks.  Lots going on and a lot of it is stressful.

I think i suffer from startitis!

Now I just need to get some things finished!  My rotation is getting out of hand, so for the next 2 months no new starts until it have at least 3 finishes.  Next week is Stitch Day at the Stitch Store so I might get a lot done.

I am working on my wish list adding to it and cleaning it up somewhat.. I had to take a couple of things off cause I know I will never do them, pretty patterns but no longer my type of thing.

This week in the rotation I am working on Summer Seascapes by Country Cottage Chart 1.  This is my progress to date.  I wish I was a faster stitcher...oh well one of these days I will have more time to stitch.

Rough couple of Days

It has been a rough couple of days for my family.  My 18 year old nephew was seriously injured Sunday night in a car accident.  He was a passenger in a vehicle who's driver failed to yield while turning, the car was T-Boned in the passenger side and Anthony took the brunt of the impact.  He was life-flighted to Atlanta Medical Center.a big shout out to the trauma team at the hospital..they took excellent care of him!  He was critical when he arrived and is still in serious condition.  He has 2 broken legs, 2 broken ankles, fractured/dislocated hip, kidney and liver lacerations.  Along with numerous other small cuts and bruises.

Surgery today to put rods, pins and plates in his right leg, manipulate his hip back into place so that they could imobilize it along with imobilizing the other leg and both ankles.  The kidney and liver lacerations have quit bleeding so that is a positive sign.  However, they discovered ACL damage in his knee during surgery.  Until they can get an MRI on it they won't make a decision on surgery for it.  They want to make sure he is more stable before operating again.

Please keep him in you prayers along with my brother and his wife.  This is their only child.
