House junk...

There are times when I hate having a home...woke up this am to NO HOT WATER!!!!!  My hot water heater died over-night...URGH!  So we have been to Home Depot first thing..new heater purchased now we just have to install it...

On a good note...yesterday was PINS and we had a great time...got a lot done..it was good to see everyone that does not make it on Tuesdays and a lot of the ladies that can't make it on Tuesdays on a regular basis are going to be there this week!

Been cleaning out a lot of my stash and am making room for items on my wish lists...I know it's sneaky but it works!

Working on getting a lot of my WIPS further along..goal this next year it to finish one WIP in order to start a new project...sounds good doesn't it??  Let's see if I live up to it...lol

No photos as camera is still at work..sent myself an e-mail to remember to bring it home..

Till the next time..hope everyone has a wonderful safe and peaceful Thanksgiving!

Long time...

It's been a long time...but a lots been going on...first of all the good things..I have a new grandson!  Logan Chandler Pierce was born on 10-5-11, four weeks early but healthy and happy.  He is now 6 weeks old and growing like a weed! This is his latest beauty shot..

His big brother Christian is not in the least bit jealous but still wants to be #1.

We had a scare with my mom...she went for her 6 month check up so she could leave for AZ and the  oncologist was a little concerned with some of her symptoms and ordered a lot of tests.  One of which was a brain scan.  Seems that when her type of cancer comes back it is usually in the brain.  Rough couple of weeks lots of waiting in hospitals and dr's offices and got the results back and she is still clean..YAHOOOO!  Mom and Dad get to leave next week for AZ and they can't wait, they need to destress.

Work has been crazy and stressful, came very very close a few days ago to being unemployed..took a weekend to think about and took a big breath and kept on going.  I need to wind the lottery!

Stitching has been my sanity..started 2 new projects...and am close to finishing a couple of more...this is the only current photo as the camera is at work...URGH

Tomorrow is IHOP and Saturday is PINS.  Hope to have a new finish at least!

It's FINISHED

Yes it's done!  I churned thru Alessandra Adellaide's Christmas Tree and finished it last night with my own touches.  The pattern did not call for any metallic's or beads but I added them.  I think it turned out nicely!

This picture does not show all of the detail work but I like the way it turned out.

Today was PINS and we had a great time...needed it after this week at work and next week will be just as bad.  Lots of meetings etc and not a lot of time to get my work done but it will get done.

Looks like the new baby Logan will make his appearance this week...not the best time in the world for it but we will handle it.

Cold Germs....Yech!!!

Who ever sent this cold my way needs to take it back!  I have not had one in a couple of years and now I remember why I don't want another one!

We have 2 new members of the household.  Lucy who is a black and white tuxedo kitten, we found her on the car-port at about age 4 weeks.  Her momma had disappeared and her 2 litter mates were found dead in our yard (we think coyotes got them).  We brought her in the house and she took right to it.

Then there is Sparky.  Tortiseshell kitten my husband found in the parking lot at work.  She is  a little cuddler.  They are fitting right in.  If you sit down they find your lap!
I have gotten quite a bit done on the Alessanda piece.  I might be able to finish it in the next couple of weeks then on to the next project.

It is a little more than half done.  There are a couple of errors in it but by the time I found them I was not going to frog the mistakes!

Is it already Monday???

I think there was a weekend in there somewhere..I don't feel like it tho.  Had the munchin all weekend, his mom was back in the hospital in premature labor again. His Pee-Paw and Uncle James took care of him all day on Friday and then I took over when I got home.  I forgot how much work a 2 year old is full time!   He played chase with the kittens all night friday nite and then they crashed together in his port-a-crib.
2 very tired babies..lol

I didn't get much stitching done this weekend and by the time he went home on Sunday I was almost too tired to do anything.  Here is my progress for the week...

I couldn't use the silver petit treasure braid on the 32 count fabric so had to settle for silver mettallic DMC..not as shiny so will make up for it with crystal, red and blue beads to simulate ornaments.

Tuesday nite will be at the IHOP and will use a portable light so I can see better then Saturday is PINS.

Hectic Weekend!

I am glad it's Monday!  I cannot belive I just said that..lol.  This weekend was not really restful.  Worked Saturday morning, then to Stitch Day, came home cleaned house, did laundry, cooked dinner.  Sat down again about 9 and crashed hard!  Sunday morning up at 5:30 am again and off to the grocery store which I was supposed to do Saturday nite but ran out of time..then off to the car show at 11.  Good show 90+ cars, lots of new ones and it appeared that everyone had a great time even in the heat.  Came home ate dinner and stitched for about an hour before I gave it up and went to bed.

This is my new start..  it is an Alessandra Adelaide piece called Christmas Tree

I am doing it on 32ct Christmas Green linen w/ DMC 5200 with Silver Petite Treasure Braid...I think it will be beautiful when it is done.

Finally another Finish!

Finally another finish!  My halloween finish..thinking I might turn it into a little pillow.

Had a little party for the munchkin on Saturday night after his accident on Friday.  He was so excited to see everyone and really liked his birthday gifts.  I think he liked his cake even more!
Another week at work..just taking it one week at at a time and this week is mid-year reviews so it will be interesting to see if I can hold my tounge.

It's not possible!

My grandson will be 2 tommorrow!!  It is not possible..lol.  The munchkin is such a little hoot.  He spent the weekend with us and wore me out!  I don't know if I am ready for Logan when he gets here in October...I am sure he will be a little sweetie too.    We will see him again this weekend for his birthday.

Didn't get a lot of stitching done this past week but almost have a small finish.  It is "Flora McSample Boo Sampler" by Lizzie Kate.  Needed something quick, easy and fun to do.

Hope to finish this up tomorrow so I can start on something new.

Not a whole lot more to say...too much going on I don't want the world to know about just yet.

Great Mini-Vacation!

Great mini-vacation..now it's time to go back to work.  Thursday was my birthday, went and paid my birthday present to Gwinnett County for tags for my cars...why can't they do it any other day than my birthday???  Such as the anniversary of the day you bought the car???  What would be the problem with that?  Spent the rest of the day piddling around, took a nap, had a nice dinner then....Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2 at IMAX!  Great Movie..hate to see them end!

Stitched some this weekend..here is the progress on Harried Hare:
I might get it done for Easter next year..lol

Spent Saturday at The Stitch Store..got a few new things and thread and fabric to finish kitting up a couple more projects.

Sunday was yard work all day that we have been putting off for a while.  Got it all done!  Yard is looking better.  Veggie patch is comming right along.  Picked my first tomatoes!

Panel 2 is done!

Panel 2 of Summer Seascape is done!..YAY  Now on to another WIP..several to pick from...I counted and it is scary..24 WIPS...it is out of control..but oh so much fun!

Sunday was a Car Show and I was so tired when I got home could not move.  The heat really got to all of us.  I think I sweated out every drop of fluid I drank.

We had the munchkin Saturday night and poor old Oscar was on guard duty...they were such a hoot!
He is too big for a porta-crib now so it is a mattress on the floor...my little house doesn't have an extra room for grandkids to spend the night so he sleeps in the living room floor..he was worn out when he went to bed and slept for 12 hours!

Taking Thursday & Friday off...Friday is HARRY POTTER!  I cannot wait..tickets already purchased and I will be at the first showing!    I know....I am a geek and proud of it!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Progress and Memories

Had a great time Tuesday nite at the Stitch Store with the "Hootie Girls"...made me remember running "Which Craft Now?" with my mom and how much fun it was.  I miss it!  Teaching classes, helping people get stuff together for new projects, going to shows and seeing students showing off their work.  I could go on and on.

Almost done with the 2nd panel of the Summer Sescape series.  When this panel is done will put it down for a couple of weeks and work on something else.  So many WIPS calling out to me..Pick Me...Pick Me!

Finally downloaded photos from our trip to see my dad in Virginia..I always get homesick when I go. This is my dad's house..built by my great-grandparents in 1902.

This is the original family home built in the late 1780's and added on to over the years..
I have great memories of this place!

Well time for work!

New Finish and New Attitude!

Finished Crazy Cat Lady a couple of weeks ago but just took picture of it last nite.  Quick and fun stitch.

It was a nice weekend. Lots of stitching, went to the library and got some stuff to read.  Trying to be smarter about money and time.  Hubby and I decided that it is time for me to get my life back and do things I want to do and not let the car club take up so much of my life.

Working on second panel of Summer Seascape series by Country Cottage.  Have my eye on several new things just coming out.  Hope Terri gets them in soon.  Pulled out an old WIP and will work on it at least 2 nites every week until it is done.  Have decided that this is my new point of attack for WIPS.

Have a great week everyone...looking forward to the 4 day weekend!

Another Finish Soon

The heat has driven me inside more so am getting a lot of stitching done.  Steady progress on Crazy Cat Lady..might even finish it tonight.  Then just have to decide which WIP is next to complete or at least make a big dent in.  Stitch Day at The Stitch Store is saturday and then car show on Sunday...full weekend!  Next weekend is off to Virginia to spend a few days with my Dad for fathers day, can't wait..we really relax when we are up there.  A very small quiet town and  hopefully it will be an escape from the heat!

Here is a pic of the progress, hopefully will show it framed next!

Happy Memorial Day!

This is the holiday when I am so proud to be a part of a military family.  Most Memorial Day weekends growing up my father was not there as he was in the Air Force and was always somewhere else.  My mom was a strong military wife and was a single parent for most of my Dad's active duty years.  They raised 3 strong independent children who were proud to be Americans and proud of the sacrifices that their father and his ancestors made to make this country great.

Current project is "Official Crazy Cat Lady" by Raise the roof designs.  I think it is really cute.  Working out in my mind what kind of frame I want to do for it.  Leaning toward a shade of blue with dark grey kitty prints walking down one side of it...we shall see.  I am making great progress on it and hope to finish it by the next Stitch Day at The Stitch Store in Buford.

It's back to work in the morning and stitching tomorrow night.  I will need it to get me thru the next couple of weeks.  Lots going on and a lot of it is stressful.

I think i suffer from startitis!

Now I just need to get some things finished!  My rotation is getting out of hand, so for the next 2 months no new starts until it have at least 3 finishes.  Next week is Stitch Day at the Stitch Store so I might get a lot done.

I am working on my wish list adding to it and cleaning it up somewhat.. I had to take a couple of things off cause I know I will never do them, pretty patterns but no longer my type of thing.

This week in the rotation I am working on Summer Seascapes by Country Cottage Chart 1.  This is my progress to date.  I wish I was a faster stitcher...oh well one of these days I will have more time to stitch.

Rough couple of Days

It has been a rough couple of days for my family.  My 18 year old nephew was seriously injured Sunday night in a car accident.  He was a passenger in a vehicle who's driver failed to yield while turning, the car was T-Boned in the passenger side and Anthony took the brunt of the impact.  He was life-flighted to Atlanta Medical Center.a big shout out to the trauma team at the hospital..they took excellent care of him!  He was critical when he arrived and is still in serious condition.  He has 2 broken legs, 2 broken ankles, fractured/dislocated hip, kidney and liver lacerations.  Along with numerous other small cuts and bruises.

Surgery today to put rods, pins and plates in his right leg, manipulate his hip back into place so that they could imobilize it along with imobilizing the other leg and both ankles.  The kidney and liver lacerations have quit bleeding so that is a positive sign.  However, they discovered ACL damage in his knee during surgery.  Until they can get an MRI on it they won't make a decision on surgery for it.  They want to make sure he is more stable before operating again.

Please keep him in you prayers along with my brother and his wife.  This is their only child.

Peaceful Easter

We had a peaceful Easter..sometimes I really miss the fact that my kids are little...this is only during the holidays tho.  Saw the munchikin Sunday morning and he was really full of himself.  He could care less about me when he sees his Pee-Paw.  He has grandpa wrapped around his finger.  I hope that they stay this way after the new one gets here in October.

Got a little stitching done this week.  Looking at it you would think I hadn't picked up a needle all week.  I really wanted to get it done for Easter but that was not realistic.  Maybe for next year.

Busy Weekend!

The car club I am part of is co-hosting the NMCA Car Show this weekend..this means no stitching at all. We have to be at the Atlanta Dragway at 6:45 both Saturday & Sunday...Long days but it will be fun...we are set up halfway down the strip right under the bleachers..will be able to see everything.

Not much progress this week on "Harried Hare" but the colors are really comming out. Really looking forward to Tuesday nite. I will need the relaxation after this weekend..lol

Spring has Sprung!

Boy has it! I spent all day yesterday coughing and sneezing...Allergy meds are just not working. Think I am going back to tried and true Tylenol Sinus.

I got the new Samsarah piece as the last Tuesday nite stitch-in. Started it on Monday night..got quite a bit done considering not much stitching time this week.

I love the colors in this...I am stitching it on a piece of yellow fabric that makes it pop that much more in my opinion.

Car show season has also started! We have had one every weekend for the last 3 weeks. Next weekend will be busy. National Muscle Car Association selected our club to host the show next weekend so we will be at the Commerce Drag Way from Friday till Sunday night! This is a big honor for our club and we are looking forward to it If anyone wants anything to do come up and see some beautiful cars!

Can't wait for Tuesday nite..need some down time.

Mouth is killing me!

Another trip to the dentist and 3 more teeth are gone. Everytime I cuss the ex-dentist even more. Go again on Thursday morning and then just let everything heal and all of the swelling to go down. Pain pills are my new best friend. I will be so glad when this is all done!

2nd Finish of the year!

I finally finished LHN's ABeeC Sampler this week. Painted the frame and got the flowers attached and got it mounted...I am happy with it.

Last week was fairly quiet. Rough week at work so needed this weekend as down time. This week is going to be bad..can feel it in my bones.

Car show season is ramping up...starts in full swing in 3 weeks...lots of work but is also lots of fun....sometimes even get to relax.

Well off to see the wizard and try to stay out of trouble

Not enough time in the day

This last week has re-affirmed that there is just not enough time in the day, week or month. I just don't seem to get everything done that needs to get done. I wind up working at home a minimum of 3 nites a week and come Friday night I am brain dead. Don't know how I am going to keep up once car show season starts. On second thought I might get more stitching done! Unless I am working the show will be sitting in my chair stitching...great way to spend an afternoon.

Had a big scare with the munchkin this week. He had a seizure on Tuesday for no apparent reason, rushed to the hospital in an ambulance and doctors found no obvious reason for it. No signs of epilepsy etc so now have to see what a pediatric neurologist has to say. Seeing him last nite you would never know it had happened. He is such a happy little man.

Got a little and I mean little stitching done. I need to relax more by stitching just right now can find the time except on Tuesday...it is so much fun..can't wait.

A new week begins

Well between the snow and dental work I have been at home for a week. The office was closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and I was on vacation Thursday and Friday for dental work. You would think being at home for a week I would get stitching done but NO. I spent 3 days working from home while the rest of my team mates were enjoying the time off. Thursday and Friday were pain pill days.

Saturday was spent running errands and watching football. I am sad to say that the Falcons lost...here is to a better year next year!

Sunday was a little stitching, a little baby sitting for my grandson Christian. Here are a couple of photos of him. Hard to believe he is already 18 months old. He is such a little cutie and still loves to cuddle.

Here is my progress so far on Country Cottage's A Bee C Sampler. I like the pastel colors in this one...makes me want spring to hurry up!
I can't wait to go to the Tuesday nite stitch in! This is a nite when I get to do what I want without cooking or cleaning or anything other than relaxing!

Snow Day!

Wonderful start to the week 7 inches of snow and sleet and it's still coming down! Started a new project last night, another LHN "ABeeC Sampler". I love all of the spring colors. I put Mercantile away for a while to start something with color. Office is closed, blueberry muffins for breakfast, chili for dinner and it looks like we may be stuck in the house for a few days.

Here are some pictures from my carport:

Reality Ain't all it's cracked up to be

Well I have been back to work for 3 whole days and am already looking forward to my next long weekend! For the most part I really like my job but some of my co-workers leave a little bit to be desired...not going to say anything else..you never know when big brother is watching!

Tuesday nite stitching was great! Small group but we had a really good time...got a lot of stitching done and a little more S.E.X. was had. Can't wait for next week. Really nice to go and just be a girl for a while not a wife, mother, grandmother or employee.

Finally got my "Under the Prairie Moon" framed and on the wall...did the frame myself. I rather like the little leaves trickling down the corner. Here it is.

I also got a lot done on Mercantile

My grandson spent the nite on New Years eve and the next morning he decided to help his poppy eat his breakfast..
Can you tell he has him wrapped???

Sunday, January 2, 2011

Well it's back to the real world tomorrow...I am in a way looking forward to it. While the vacation was nice I am not the kind of person that can stay at home. I need the challenge of working..keeps the brain active. I got a lot done the week and the plan for today is to frame Prairie Moon, stitch some more on Merchantile and watch the Falcons game(hope to watch them clinch division). I will also bake a batch of Jailhouse cookies to use of the last of the supplies. Looking forward to Tuesday nite stitching...will be to nice to socialize, Friday nite dinner with the car club is also a great way to end the week
